What personal data do I collect and why I collect it
- Comments: Visitors leave no comments on the site, so I collect no comment data.
- Media: Visitors cannot upload images to my website, so I have no images with embedded location data (Exif GPS).
- Contact forms: My contact form is optional. I will not misuse or abuse your email address in any way. I will never disclose your email address to a third party, without your expressed written permission.
- Cookies: I do not leave cookies. I originally wanted to create a pop-up, for “First Time” users, stating that I do not leave cookies. Unfortunately, to recognize “first time” users, I would need to leave a cookie. Therefore, all visitors to my “Welcome” page get a pop-up notice. While you are on the website, you get a sort of marker which follows you and lets me know how many pages you viewed and which pages you viewed. As soon as you leave the website, the marker is gone. If you completely leave my website for a moment and then come back, you are counted as a new visitor. Since I don’t leave cookies, I can’t differentiate between your two visits.
- Analytics: I use a plugin called “Koko Analytics”, but only to count the number of visitors to my website, how many pages they viewed and which pages they viewed. I selected Koko Analytics because it gives me a straight—up, head count while respecting the privacy of my visitors. I invite you to visit Koko Analytics and see for yourself. Koko Analytics specifically touts itself as being “Privacy-Friendly” and has the following features:
- Privacy: No personal information or anything visitor specific is tracked.
- My Links:
- Embedded content from other websites: I have numerous links to other websites. Unless I own such websites, I accept no responsibility for the way in which they process your personal data. Any embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website directly without my link. You are recommended to check the privacy policy of each website before you submit any personal data to it.
- Sponsored Links: I do not have any “Sponsored or Paid Links”.
- External Links: All the external links on my website are [rel=”nofollow”] links, which tells search engines, such as Google, two things:
- Don’t associate my website with this linked page
- Don’t crawl into the linked page from my website
- Who I share your data with: I share your data with no one. The only data that I collect is a straight up, head count of visitors, the number of pages viewed and which pages they viewed, all without the use of cookies. If a visitor leaves my website and returns, they are counted as a new visitor because I have no way to recognize that the two visits are from the same guest. Please refer to “Analytics” above.
- How long I retain your data: Except for a head count on visitors, the number of pages visited and which pages were visited, I do not retain any personnel data because I do not collect any other data.
- What rights you have over your data: Since there is no collected data, there are no rights in dispute.
- Where I send your data: I cannot send any data because I collected no data.
- Changes to my privacy policy: You should note that I may change this privacy policy without notice. Please check back frequently to see if any updates or changes have been made to this statement.
