VIPs

This is a list of the American and British VIPs who attended the formal ceremony held in the National Assembly Building in Seoul on Sept. 29, 1950. The reason for presenting this list is because of Lieutenant General George C. Kenney. At the time of the ceremony, he was not assigned to Korea. He was the commanding officer of the U.S. Air Force Air University, a position he held from October 1948 until his retirement from the Air Force on August 31, 1951. He was probably in Korea to get MacArthur’s approval for his book “The MacArthur I Know” which he published in January 1951.1
